** crap box ** the electronic knights pack series issue 2 we welcome our new member and pack maintainer: ** slash ** !!! packmenu credits: * code bifat * music slash * gfx nero * font plasma the first three issues are some kind of 'worst of tek' from the past couple of years - compiled by bifat - before we hand the task of pack maintenance to slash. see membertro on issue 1 for more details and greetings too! regarding the intro 'tide' for k2: eat this! 512 bytes that even work on... an amiga!... a complete intro - including not only the usual ingredients logo, effect, music and some dramaturgy, .... but also an exit, which turns this prod into an *actual* intro that can be used for *actual* intro purposes. also noteworthy is that the exact same tune by ok3anos was used in the 512 bytes vectrex intro by rabenauge, which won the same competition. with 'future of limits' i (bifat) entered a new phase. as usual, we started about two weeks before the party, in that case the revision. regarding the design: 'sieht echt schlimm aus' (looks really terrible), as hellfire has so aptly put it after a test run. so why is fol interesting ok, here i got saturated additive bobs working for the first time, and i was able to combine them with a second effect, with both effects sharing the same palette in a tricky, convoluted way. unfortunately, due to the notorious lack of time, i failed to work out a palette that truly exploited its potential. also we had those huge 'truecolor' vectorballs and some other goodies that may not reveal themselves at first glance. so fol was a prototype and internal milestone for things to come in a probably underdeveloped package. downslope was another two-weeks-affair for the decrunch party, and here i could draw from some things learned in fol. also here for the first time i demonstrated my new texturemapper. from outskirts (another two weeks production) i was a bit disappointed on the big screen, as the anaglyph 3d effect didn't work as well as expected, although it looked promising at home on screen and projector. it's a well rounded demo with another bunch of newly developed effects, such as an improved inconvex vector routine, the first iteration of a glass 3d logo, the dot tunnel from downslope, and more. outskirts is using a blitter technique which to my knowledge was invented here - in a cooperate effort with jasmin68k and losso. and then, finally, with glenztro, we have the first production coded by ok3anos! please note that ok3anos insists on doing everything from the ground up - we have to this day never exchanged a single line of code. here we also have a really nice logo from ozan, who later joined us. congratulations! also we started hologon at about the end of november 2019. as for the invitation 'orwo', for which we even travelled to sweden - the party for which we did the invitation was cancelled. should this venue ever take place again, i (bifat) am not sure if i would recommend it again, as i was kicked out of the party orga for alleged 'corona denial'. this is utter rubbish made up by v3nom. v3nom, if your thinking device is overwhelmed by cognitive dissonance from haphazard government response, constantly moving goalposts and contradicting scientific evidence, i'm not the one to blame. my opinion is very simple and does not touch the issue of existence of some virus: 1. measures should be recommendations, not to be enforced, but voluntary. 2. shutting down events, schools and shops, wearing masks, etc. for the entire population is wrong. a mistake for a multitude of reasons - the most important being that the 400 million years old vertebrate immune system is ultra optimized and capable for fighting pathogens. it's utmost stupidity and technocratic hubris to disallow healthy people building up immunity the natural way in parallel to what funny ideas governments may come up with. you may disagree, but even if your slander would be appropriate by any stretch of imagination, this would be irrelevant for my part in running a party. so, if the pouet oneliner is too much of a burden for your touchy soul, feel free to crawl under a rock or dig yourself into a hole for sitting out this so-called pandemic. yes, look up the definition. correct, there is none. a pandemic is decreed by the w.h.o. there are no other criteria anymore. man-made, arbitrary. you get it now perhaps preemptive obedience to authoritarianism has infested your limited population of brain cells. apropos hygiene: the toilets were a yucky mess and i was the only one improvising on cleaning them during saturday night. no wonder, because there was hardly any equipment. it was difficult to even get a simple bucket of water when someone peed in the sleeping room. i mopped up the pee with bare hands, because there were no gloves. visit some other random party like nordlicht or gerp, and have a look at the toilets on sunday morning: shiny like the sun. from a dead uwe toilet however a weak immune system turned belly-up from the sheer sight of it. i offered to pay a cleaning service for the next iteration. we did not one, but two invitations for this party. you were calling me names, and even then i offered apologies for possibly touching your feelings. but there was no answer. v3nom, you are a lamer.
